Make this one for the pickle lovers in your life. It's a fun change-up to a game day spread or for holiday appetizers.

I love dips for parties because I can do all the work ahead of time, stick the platter in the fridge and then set it out right as people start to arrive.

And it's not a lot of work. Simply blend together all the ingredients and pop the dip in a cute bowl.

Joanie's Balanced Bites: What Goes with Pickle Dip

Thanks to the cream cheese and sour cream, we’ve got a nice dose of fats to help support stable blood sugar if you choose to enjoy this with toasty crackers or gut-happy sourdough bread.

If you want to level up the protein, swap plain greek yogurt with the sour cream.

And of course, bring some fiber to the party with fresh veggies like cucumber slices, snacking peppers, carrots and celery.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spicy Dill Pickle Dip

What is dill pickle dip made of?

The creamy base is made of sour cream, pickle juice, hot sauce, fresh dill weed, garlic powder or onion powder, cayenne pepper and salt. Then I fold in diced dill pickle spears and minced jalapeno pepper for added spice.

What kind of pickles go into this spicy pickle dip?

I opted for kosher dill pickles spears because of their classic flavor. I've also seen spicy dill pickles in grocery stores which would definitely drive home the heat in this recipe.

What if I don't want it to be spicy?

No problem! Just leave out the cayenne pepper and jalapenos and make sure the hot sauce you select is mild in flavor.

What to eat with spicy dill pickle dip?

I personally love serving this dip with buttered saltine crackers. You can also serve it with potato chips, tortilla chips, pita chips, baguette slices, mini bell peppers or other fresh vegetables. Another option is to sprinkle sliced green onions or chives over the top of the finished dip.
