Description
Crock Pot Jalapeno Popper Dip is an easy, cheesy party appetizer loaded with fresh jalapenos and topped with crispy bacon.
Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 medium white onion, diced
- 3 jalapenos, seeded and minced
- 1 7oz can diced mild green chiles
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 8oz cream cheese cubed
- 8oz pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, diced
Instructions
- Dice up thick cut bacon and cook it over medium high heat in a nonstick skillet, stirring up the bacon bits occasionally so that they cook evenly. Once they’re crispy, transfer them to a plate with paper towels to soak up the excess grease. Drain off some of the remaining grease left in the pan but keep about a tablespoon’s worth for the next step!
- Add the onion to the pan with the leftover bacon grease and saute enough that they’re soft and fragrant. Two to three minutes should do the job.
- Add the sauteed onions, minced jalapenos, diced green chilies, garlic powder, salt, paprika, cream cheese, pepper jack cheese, and sour cream to the bowl of a crock pot. Then mix everything together.
- Cover your pot and cook on the low temperature setting for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours of cooking, the dip should be nice and bubbly. Go ahead and stir it up, then sprinkle the bacon bits and pickled jalapenos on top and serve.
